Allianz Investmentbank was established in 1989 by the Allianz Group in Austria. It is part of the globally active Allianz Global Investors (formerly known as the Allianz Dresdner Asset Management Group) and was selected by the Allianz Insurance Group in 1997 to be the 3^rd core business unit. Like its fellow group companies, Allianz Investmentbank benefits from the worldwide asset management expertise cultivated by the 200 investment professionals in the Allianz Group.

The declared objective is to push the expansion of asset management for institutional and retail Allianz customers. With asset management integrated functionally and internationally in the Allianz Group, this global player can perform its role ideally on internationally networked markets. In 2000, Allianz acquired a majority stake in the Pacific Investment Management Company, a top portfolio manager with long-standing experience on the US bond market. Allianz Global Investors’ closely-knit network promotes expertise across the globe. The Allianz Group is the second largest asset manager in the world (as of January 2006). Its more than 110,000 employees manage over €1,200 billion in assets in 70 different countries.

Customers Benefit from Above-Average Performance

Allianz Investmentbank handles asset management for the Allianz Group in Austria. The capital being invested in Austria amounts to about €10 billion. Initially, the focus was on managing insurance assets. To meet the steady growth in customer needs, the bank has since diversified the product range into Allianz Invest funds and added a number of retail funds to the mix. Today the portfolio includes 17 publicly offered funds of various risk classes, with security and reliability given top priority in instrument selection.

Allianz Invest KAG is a wholly owned subsidiary of Allianz Investmentbank and ranks fourth among Austrian investment fund companies. It draws on the expertise of the companies and the special features of the domestic market to achieve above-average performance on a regular basis.
